While the city offers numerous youth development resources, here are some the neighborhoods have found most helpful in achieving their public safety needs and goals:

YouthWorks Program: The Mayor’s youth employment program employs thousands of Baltimore youth every summer. Local neighborhood organizations can apply to be a host site. The city will match the youth in your neighborhood who apply to your local neighborhood site. Applications are open in the spring. Visit the YouthWorks website for more details.

Community Schools: Baltimore’s Community Schools strategy helps bring together parents, teachers, school staff members, neighborhood residents and neighborhood groups. This partnership helps to bring additional resources to neighborhood youth. There are currently more than 50 full-service community schools in Baltimore. Contact your local school to find out how you can get involved.
